Prof. Xuexi Zhang
Biography: Prof. Zhang works at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin China. His interested in magnetic shape memory alloys (FMSMAs) and discontinuously reinforced metal-matrix composites (DRMMCs). His current research focuses on the low-dimensional Ni-Mn-based FMSMAs, including foams, films, wires and powders, and the size effect for magneto-structural transition for tailoring various functional properties (magnetic-field-induced strain, magnetocaloric effects, elastocaloric effect and damping). He also works in DRMMCs in the field of high-throughput preparation, characterization, optimization of aluminum MMCs (including particle, whisker and nano-carbon reinforced MMCs), and application of these high performance composites for various advanced industrial mechanical structures. He has authored 120 scientific contributions and 41 patents.
