Prof. Shinhoo Kang, (Ph.D. in Metallurgy), now is Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, heading Ceramic-Metal Composite Laboratory. He got his BS in Materials Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnique Institute (RPI), Troy, NY, USA in 1978, MS and Ph.D. in Metallurgy at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1980 and 1983, respectively. Currently Prof. Shinhoo Kang’s researches focus on the nano-phosphor, nano-composites, nano-porous materials, energy storage materials, high-toughness/high hardness tool materials for machining, and ceramic materials for extremely high temperature applications.
